Lately, at checkout registers, I have been noticing most places are asking if you’d like to round up to the nearest dollar. Charities include food banks, humanitarian nonprofits, even nonprofits for pets.

Turns out, according to NPR in 2024, spare change donated can add up to millions for charity.
